August Brief /// The Ambiguous Space
Jury Comments:
"An interesting proposal to re-frame the way abandoned, previously defined, spaces adapt to potentially unforeseen program within their afterlife. The users role in defining the space is more elemental in such a situation as a reaction, not only to the physical forms remaining, but also the ambiguity of a discarded program."
"Simply for the line 'Ruins provide users with a haven in which to perform activities that urban progress has denied them.' Urban progress has denied not only the users of a place for certain activities, but has denied the place, the ruin, of the activities it is meant to perform."
